One of my co-workers recommended I visit Grinter’s Sunflower Farm in Leavenworth County. Only 30 miles from my house, I knew it was something I needed to check out! Sunflowers are the Kansas state flower after all. 🌻
Grinter’s Farm has become a huge happening, with thousands of visitors during the sunflowers’ peak. (Usually late August or early September) It is absolutely free to visit, take pictures, and spend as much time as you want wandering the rolling hills full of cheery flowers. You almost feel like the sea of sunflowers are saying, “Hello!” as you pass by admiring their beauty.
I enjoyed adventuring from one hill to another, watching people take selfies, family pictures, and photos of their pets. I also witnessed professional photographers taking Senior portraits which I thought was a neat idea.
You can’t help but smile when taking in so much beauty. What a unique place to visit and I can’t wait to come back next season! Thanks to Grinter’s Farm for providing this phenomenal habitat for wildlife and giving us the opportunity to spend time with your sunflowers.
